Why Packaging Is Part of Your Product

A cracked ashtray isn't just a loss — it's a refund, a bad review, and a customer who won't come back. For handmade fragile items, packaging is as important as the craft itself. Here's how to get it right.

The Golden Rule: Double-Box Everything Fragile

Inner box: wrap the piece in bubble wrap (minimum 3 layers), fill all voids with crumpled kraft paper or foam peanuts. Outer box: use a corrugated box at least 5cm larger on all sides than the inner box. Fill the gap with more cushioning.

Material-Specific Tips

Ceramic & clay ashtrays: Wrap handles and rims separately. Use foam corner protectors. Mark box as FRAGILE on all 6 sides.
Resin pieces: Resin is more durable but scratches easily — wrap in tissue first, then bubble wrap.
Glass bongs & pipes: Disassemble where possible. Wrap each part individually. Never let glass touch glass inside the box.
Wood pieces: Lightweight and less fragile, but wrap to prevent scratches and moisture damage.

• Order ID on the inner box (helps if outer gets damaged)
